Relics of Blessed Carlo Acutis Found to Not Meet Canonical Requirements

Officials from the Congregation for the Causes of Saints have issued a warning regarding the circulation of relics attributed to Blessed Carlo Acutis which do not meet the required canonical regulations. The warning follows reports from various locations about the presence of such relics that do not comply with the provisions set forth in the Instruction of the Congregation.

Blessed Carlo Acutis, an Italian teenager who died in 2006 at the age of 15, was beatified in 2020. He is known for his piety, love for the Eucharist, and dedication to spreading the Gospel message through technology. Since his beatification, there has been a surge in devotion to him, and relics associated with him have become sought after by faithful worldwide.

The Church authorities have urged caution and reminded the faithful to only venerate relics that have been properly authenticated and certified by the competent ecclesiastical authorities.
